Conquering the Yellow Wind Sage

The second chapter of Black Myth Wukong is a force to be reckoned with, and to progress to the next chapter, you’ll need to defeat the formidable Yellow Wind Sage. This boss is hiding in the Yellow Wind Ridge zone of the second chapter, and to get there, you’ll need to take a detour through the formation zone.

Finding the Yellow Wind Sage

The Yellow Wind Sage can be found in the formation zone of the Yellow Wind Ridge, accessible through two different routes. You can either defeat the Stone Vanguard and use the Tally to unlock the door leading to the valley where the giant tornado rages, or you can face the Tiger Vanguard and access the secret area that leads to the NPC who allows you to craft Celestial Medicine.

Preparing for Battle

Before facing the Yellow Wind Sage, make sure you’re well-equipped with the right gear and abilities. You can craft items that provide shock resistance and upgrade your equipment to make the battle more manageable. It’s also recommended to defeat the Avant-garde of the Tiger Vanguard to access the fabrication of Celestial Medicine, which will give you the necessary mental cores.

Tips for Defeating the Yellow Wind Sage

When you first enter the battle, take advantage of the slow start to launch a few attacks and immobilize the Sage. Once they’re standing, they’ll unleash a series of powerful attacks, including a ground attack that creates four pillars of light, a kick attack that sends you flying, and a swirling tornado that deals damage and limits your movement. To counter these attacks, use your agility to dodge and weave around the Sage’s attacks, or use your shield to block and counterattack.

As the battle wears on, the Sage will gain new abilities, including a wind-based attack that blows you back and a series of rapid-fire punches. To cope with these new attacks, focus on your defense and try to stay behind the Sage, where you can avoid its longer-range attacks.

Rewards for Defeating the Yellow Wind Sage

If you manage to defeat the Yellow Wind Sage, you’ll be rewarded with:

• 2x Silk
• 2x Cold Iron Leaves
• Refined Cold Iron Sand
• 2x Yaoguai Cores
• Spirit Core

These rewards will be essential for progressing through the game, particularly the Cold Iron Leaves, which will allow you to craft at least part of the Ochre Armor.
